Choosing a power bank in Lebanon: the numbers that actually matter
Capacity is only half the story. Output wattage decides whether your phone charges in an hour or in four.
Capacity tells you how many charges, wattage tells you how fast
A 20000mAh bank holds roughly four to five phone charges. That number is easy to read on the box. The number that is usually hidden is the output wattage, and it is the one you feel.
At 5W a modern phone takes about four hours. At 22.5W it takes a bit over an hour. Same capacity, completely different experience during a cut.
Look for three ports, not two
During a power cut, one bank usually serves more than one person. Two USB-A ports plus a USB-C means a phone, a second phone and a set of earbuds at the same time.
USB-C also means the bank recharges quickly itself, which matters when the electricity window is short.
A real percentage display
Four bars tell you nothing useful. A digital percentage tells you whether you can leave the house on what is left. It sounds like a small thing until the first time you are caught out.
Weight and cabin rules
Anything over 27000mAh starts running into airline restrictions. 20000mAh is under the common 100Wh limit, so it travels without a conversation at the gate.
